Favorite Baby Products- Then & Now
I became a 1st time mom nearly 12 years ago when I had Olivia. I find myself joking with people that I feel like a 1st time mom all over again now with little Everly. I have to say over the last decade plus a lot of things have changed in the baby product section but I was surprised how many of my old favorites were still around.
So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite baby products that I started loving a decade ago and some super fantastic new products that I’m not sure how I ever mommed (yep I just made this a word) without.

Baby Products Then:
Here is a list of products I actually used over a decade ago that I still found helpful this time around. Some of them got upgraded which made them that much better
Boppy
I recommend this to every new mom I encounter. Its great for so many things- nursing, tummy time and even new sitters. There are also new covers with toy attachments that I love.
Bumbo
This was a “new” product back when I had Olivia. I had a great friend that allowed me to barrow hers and Olivia loved it. I like that it gave her a place to sit up. Now there are cool trays that you can put on them, which is great for first time eaters
Butt Paste
Lets be real poop happens and sometimes it causes diaper rash. I loved Butt paste then and I still love it now. There is now a natural option!
Sleep Bag
These things are magic. Olivia slept on her own from day one and I never had to worry about her getting chilly at night. Everly still uses one and I remember all over again why I love them.
Rings
Oh the many uses for these rings. You can link them together and attach them to a stroller, highchair or car seat with a toy attached at the end so baby cant throw it over !!! I have also put one on my diaper bag to attach my keys.
Robeez
Any mom from a decade ago I’m sure can remember that the only place you could find “new trendy” baby stuff was at baby boutiques. That is where my mom found these adorable shoes and Olivia LIVED in them- the soft soles were great when she started learning to walk. With the elastic around the ankle not only did it keep her socks on but she wasn’t able to yank them off either. They now have soo many different styles and colors. check them out.
Baby Products Now:
All the things I mommed without the first time around. Now I could never mom without these things Haha!
Snack Holder
This is a sanity saver !!! remember those rings I was just talking about attach this to the end and your lil one wont be able to chuck it over the side of the stroller. No more annoying pick up game !
Teething Necklace
If your lil one has a tough time teething like Everly has then you MUST get one or ten of these!!! Not only are they so stylish but they are perfect for when you run out the door and forget a teether. Find my other favorite teething products here
Diaper Caddy
As a new mom a decade ago I learned quickly that I did not have the energy or time to always walk into Olivia’s room to change her. Hello diaper caddy !! I had a simple basket back in the day piled with all the things. But mommas these new caddy’s are a must have, with all the pockets and compartments ! Buy two and put one in your room and the living room!
Pack n Play
Ok your probably thinking- ” there were Pack n Play’s 11 years ago” and your absolutely right. We can all agree though that they were NOTHING like they are today! This one has all the bells and whistles. It’s perfect if you are going to room share or live in a small space you NEED this. Check out how we shared our master bedroom with Everly here
Baby Monitor
Oh boy have these come a long way. I didn’t realize how nice and comforting it was to be able to not only hear baby but also see her. If you are like me and need that added piece of mind while baby is sleeping. Just do yourself a favor and get this monitor.
I could have easily included 4 dozen other things to the lists above. Being a new parent is already overwhelming so I summed my lists up to the things that stood out as my favs. I hope you found this post helpful leave a comment if you have other recommendations !
Smile,
Kayla
